I am 48 years old, I was arrested and charged with second degree murder in 2003 in Buffalo, New York. I was convicted in 2004 by trial and was given a sentence of 25 years to life. My application for clemency was submitted in 2017, to no avail.

There is truly no question that the charge for which I am incarcerated is a serious offense. I have always claimed my innocence, yet I take full responsibility for the life that was lost while under my direct care. I feel badly and very remorseful because it was my sole responsibility to protect Terrell. A task I failed miserably. Because of my failure to protect him from the unknown, I have to carry and live with this pain for the rest of my life. Furthermore, if you examine all the factors that are used to predict whether a person is most likely to recidivate, these factors will indicate that I will not have any further run in with the law.

My prison disciplinary record will also reflect that I obey all rules and regulations of the prison. I have a wide range of supporters, family and/or friends whom are all willing to assist me with reintegration back into society. Prior to my incarceration, I had an excellent and extensive work history and no prior criminal record or arrests.

I have since obtained additional marketable skills that will help me obtain future employment upon release. I have obtained an Associate and Bachelor's degree from Marymount Manhattan College, as well as obtained certification in food service, certification in HIV/STD/HCV peer facilitator training from the New York State Department of Health AIDS institution, and I also am a certified AVP {Alternatives to Violence Project} facilitator, a volunteer support group I have been running since 2014.

It is my belief that I am an intelligent individual and deserve a second chance.
