Freddy Medina

Written by Freddy’s girlfriend Jennifer
Freddy is an exemplary candidate for the Clemecy initiative. He has completed 70% of his 20 year sentence, with over 10 years of a clean disciplinary history. He has always maintained an optimistic outlook and has used his time productively to rehabilitate himself. During his incarceration Freddy has completed hundreds of hours volunteering self help and self therapy programs such as AVP (Alternative it Violence Program), Breaking Barriers, ART (Aggression Replacement Training), Parenting, Healthy Relationships, and a rigorous certificate program sponsored by the Rising Hope Academy. Furthermore, he has completed a six year training course and has wandered his apprenticeship verified by the Department of Labor in the Plumbing & Heat Trade. He has also earned an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and a Bachelors Degree in Behavioral Science while incarcerated, and just recently obtained his Masters Degree in Professional Studies from the NY Theological Seminar, available only to the most qualified students in the NY prison system. The side many don’t see of Freddy is his warm loving heart. His passion to love, to care, his empathy. He is kind, he is patient, he is compassionate, he is supportive, he is humble, he is respectful, he is affectionate, he is thoughtful and he is thankful regardless of where he is now.

When Freddy is released his family and I will be by his side encouraging him, supporting him and loving him. He has a secure home waiting for him. He has a loving and supportive family. He has many certifications, degrees and many job opportunities lined up with fellow professors and friends. He has a strong, stable network of people waiting to help him when he comes home from prison. Freddy has worked hard at his own rehabilitation and has been a role model to many. He has our family and a circle of support that will help him to be successful when he comes home. Freddy accomplished so many goals and achievements, that many people out in the real world can never do. His determination to complete goals and task are remarkable. He has matured, has learned self discipline, and his commitment to life in itself are amazing traits to succeed once he re-enters society. Freddy deserves clemency.
