I was sentenced to 40 years to life. The judge gave me 2 consecutive 20 to life sentences and ran the gun charge concurrent.
In March, I will have served 27 years. I am 54 years old. I've spent half of my life in prison. And I will not become parole eligible for another 12 1/2 years since I qualify for LCTA (Limited Credit Time Allowances). I've earned an A.A. in Sociology, a B.A. in Sociology, and I have a Legal Research Certificate. I'm a certified HIV/AIDS Peer Counselor. I'm a certified Alternatives to Violence facilitator. I'm a certified IPA, And I have a host of other certificates for participation in various programs.
My support system includes my 81 year old mother, fiancé, 2 sisters, nephew and a few really good friends.
