On July 29, 2020 @NYGovCuomo’s prison system updated a set of punitive COVID prison visit procedures at the 52 correctional facilities in NYS. The procedures are inhumane, keep families apart & are out of touch with public health. #ProtectOurVisits

@NYGovCuomo’s new COVID prison visits are (1) non-contact; (2) limit the number of children who are allowed to visit their parents; (3) ban use of the children’s play area; & (4) continue to suspend the Family Reunion Program.

All of NYS’s 10 regions entered phase 3 as of July 6th, 2020. We can go get tattoos, manicures, massages, and even sit outdoors at restaurants, but we cannot touch our loved ones. We can stay safe from COVID-19 and visit our loved ones at the same time.

We know what we need to do in order to make sure that we and our loved ones are safe.

Call, tag, email @NYGovCuomo and DOCCS Commissioner Anthony Annucci and ask them to restore in-person contact visits that are both dignified and in line with public health guidelines.
